Blood flow in the heart
The heart squeezes the blood into the whole body. At rest, the heart pumps 5 litres of blood per minute. However, at peak exercise, it can pump up to 20 litres of blood per minute!

My Work:
I am a doctor and scientist. My work involves saving lives and developing new technology to assess blood flow in the heart.

My Typical Day:
A lot of writing, scanning patients in a magnet, analysing data and talking to other researchers.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I will develop a video to explain how the blood travels in the heart!
