I much preferred Maths when I was at school. I really struggled with English and it confused me at times, also the fact that there is no right or wrong answer sometimes.

But as I have got older I can now see the benefits of English and being able to write confidently.

Well, I learnt English as a foreign language and I can’t think of anyone who is happy about the way they learnt a foreign language. So I will go with maths on this one. Plus, it’s fun and you can approach it as a game. There is only one answer so you can know exactly if you got it right or wrong.
On the other hand, I used to find French (so that would be English for you) more liberating in the sense that it allows to express yourself and your creativity. At the end of the day, both are about creating a structure, a reasoning. Maths tells you what this structure must be like, English allows you to create your own.

I liked Maths at school. I understood this better where as English I really struggled with and my teacher constantly told me I need to read more however I read all the time. I use both all the times in my daily work.
