I enjoy talking to school pupils about my job as I enjoy sharing my experience as I find alot of them did not know there was such a thing as blood transfusion or that scientist were involved in working with blood to make it safe for transfusion. I find that when I share my experience it encourages young people to go think and research what they would like to do as their career. I feel young people are most excited to learn new things.

Some politicians are sometimes taking decisions that are going against everything science tells us! That is especially the case when it comes to global warming for example.
Some other politicians think that vaccines are harmful to people while there is no research supporting this and by thinking so and trying to impose their opinion on other’s people, they are risking people’s lives!
Ideology is the opposite of science and unfortunately, some people who are in charge of deciding policies trust more their ideologies than science…

I would like to teach that there is no one type of scientist. We all look different, men and women, some people are chatty others are quiet, and there are lots of different jobs you can do as a scientist!

I teach undergraduate university students about the area of science. Now I am working on ways to get the science ideas to school kids and also to couples who are planning a pregnancy. If people can understand a bit about the science and how important early development and nutrition is to their later health then I think they may get better healthy habits for life long health.
