I started researching about the heart when I started my PhD at 22. Some people start working on their PhD topic during their master but during mine, I was then working on small bubbles loaded with drug that we inject in the blood stream to deliver the drug to places it wouldn’t be possible otherwise. That was very interesting but it had nothing to do with the heart…
It is never too early though (or late!) to develop an interest for something that you love. I know people who are doing their PhD on topics they were fascinated about since they were 10! 🙂
