Lots of people who have heart attacks survive these days, so it’s incredibly rewarding to know that you have helped save someones life! It is a great feeling to be able to see the patient on the ward and know that you have given them more time with their loved ones, or to see a patient in clinic and know that you have helped in procedures that have made them feel better and improve their quality of life.

Obviously it’s very sad when patients don’t survive their heart attack, it’s probably the worst part of the job, but you have to think logically, that you and the team did everything you could to give them the best chance of life, and be ready to try again to help the next patient! I do enjoy it, and i’m very proud to do the jo that I do!
