• Question: Hello guys! I'd just like to ask, you know the crystals that you often hang in front of a window, and mini rainbows form on the around the room? how does it work, like, how are the rainbows formed? (i know, my phrasing must sound ridiculous XD)

This is a great question! Basically, you are asking us how rainbows are created.

Sun light is the combination of all the colours of the spectrum. They are propagating in the atmostphere like waves on an ocean. The same way every ocean wave has a different length that we called period, colour waves have different periods too (one for each colour). When the sun light enters your room and penetrates through your crystal, the crystal separates all the colour waves that make up the sun light according to these periods. They will be scattered around depending on their period: the shorter periods (blue) will be the most scattered and the longest ones (red) will be the least. This is why rainbows always follow the same order in their colour (blue, green, yellow, red).

In the sky, rainbows appear after it has rained and while there are still water molecule in the atmosphere. They like your crystals and scatter the sun light in all directions to create rainbows. Have a look at this video, it is quite helpful 🙂
